English and Foreign Language Instructors
Lingua Language Center welcomes the opportunity to hire qualified instructors to enrich its faculty. We seek instructors with initiative, efficiency, motivation and flexibility, who also have excellent teaching skills and native proficiency in the language(s) taught such as verbal communication, grammar and structures. Instructors are also required to have the ability to gain the interest of students in active practice, assess student needs, keep organized lesson plans, manage assessment and evaluation forms, attendance rosters, include extracurricular supplemental material, plan and participate in holiday and special events to further student learning.
Lingua is currently only hiring English teachers who can teach locally/in-person, for all its language training programs in the tri-county South Florida areas of Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach. Please submit your résumés, credentials and references to the Academic Department.
Faculty Requirements
English Teaching Positions:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in English, Modern Languages, Education, Linguistics, or a related educational field.
Experience: At least one year of teaching experience. - Alternative Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a non-related field with a minimum of one year of teaching experience.
TEFL Certification of 120 hours. - Preferred: A Master’s degree or higher.
- Skills: Excellent teaching skills, dynamic presence, and full English fluency.
Notably, a significant percentage of Lingua’s current instructors exceed the minimum criteria, with many holding Master’s Degrees and a few possessing Ph.D. or Ed.D. degrees. Several of our instructors are also adjunct faculty at Broward College, Miami-Dade College or other area universities.
Special Exception Provision: Occasionally, Lingua may hire instructors without a Bachelor’s degree if they demonstrate extensive English teaching experience (more than 3-5 years).
Foreign Language Teaching Positions:
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Languages, or in one of the target languages.
- Proficiency: Full fluency/ proficiency in the target language.
- Alternative Qualifications: In the absence of a related degree, candidates must have at least three years of teaching experience in the target language.
- Preferred: A Master’s degree or higher.
Professional Translators and Interpreters
Lingua is currently hiring translators to work remotely and interpreters to work in the tri-county South Florida areas of Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach, and remotely as well. Lingua’s compensation for translators and interpreters is competitive worldwide.
Professional translators and interpreters, please submit your résumés to the Translations Department, including your credentials and references. Please also indicate your working language pair combinations.
Translators & Interpreters Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- ATA Certification; or
- State Certification; or
- Federal Certification; or
- Foreign Certification with appropriate translation and evaluation of credentials Industry-specialization.
International Recruiters
Lingua Language Center is seeking recruiters that bring in students to our diverse language programs in 3 locations in South Florida: Fort Lauderdale, Weston, and Doral.
Lingua has put together a series of EnterTraining℠ classes and extracurricular activities to guarantee a wonderful learning experience and an enriching cultural trip. We are confident that we can help your students to improve their language skills and they will enjoy a culturally rewarding experience.
We also offer to customize your Study Abroad Experience to include all of the elements your group desires. Let us create the package that best fits your needs with our Summer Camp English Classes and our All-Inclusive English Program. Our Study Abroad Experience may include:
- 16 clock hours of English classes per week
- Transportation from/to airport
- Triple occupancy in nearby hotel or single occupancy with host family
- Buffet breakfast every day and 6 lunches (half board)
- Daily local extracurricular fun activities
- Placement test, books, insurance, welcome package
