Lingua Language Center take students to a Field Trip to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is considered a National Historic Landmark that preserves the Miami estate of agricultural industrialist, James Deering. The house was built between 1914 and 1922 in the Coconut Grove area of Miami. Initially, the structure was surrounded by sub-tropical forest, however it is now recognized as an oasis of silence, the gardens are peaceful and green, and beautifully preserved.

Lingua students went back in time and enjoyed the Deering family’s astonishing collection of art and architecture which can be found at Vizcaya. Every area, garden, objet d’art, and room of the estate recreates a romantic narrative of historic periods, countries and traditions. Deering made efforts to link objects with figures of history such as Nero, Napoleon and Jefferson to awe his visitors with the most exquisite, eclectic and eccentric pieces to be found from that time in history.
